Australia Part 1 : Kuala Lumpur to Sydney
Last July, my family and I traveled to Sydney for a duration of 2 weeks. My mom had actually planned this trip for a while but since it involved different families with clashing schedules, it was kind of an on-again-off-again trip plan. By some miracle, we managed to get our whole family in Sydney even though we departed at different dates. Haha. Huge thanks to my mom for always getting us together for the best family trips ever!! She's the adventurous type and loves to travel, so lucky us! Love you ummi!!<3
We got aisle seats on the flight and there was another passenger sitting next to my husband. Luckily one of the kind stewardess offered him to change seats with an empty spot somewhere else so instead of 3 seats, we got 4(infants don't get seats obviously). With 4 seats, Juhd could sleep more comfortably and I was relieved even though I had a hard time getting comfortable especially when breastfeeding Qomar on the plane. Nevertheless, I would consider it to be a smooth flight because both the kids were quite calm and sleepy most of the time. I feel sorry for the passenger sitting in front of Juhd though because Juhd kept kicking his seat from behindT_T. Luckily the man didn't seem to mind.
We arrived at Sydney Airport at around 8pm at night. It was winter so the weather was rather chilly, but not as cold as some other countries. personally for me, I felt like Australian winter is like a spring day in England. I guess it's because it was mostly sunny during the day. Temperatures only get really cold during the night.
We reached our Airbnb home in Kingsford rather late, settled in before going to bed. This was our cozy Airbnb home during the day. It was a one storey house with 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms. My sister was the one in charge of booking the place so I don't quite remember the rates. But I think it was around RM900 per night. It was the perfect house for us, and more importantly, was located near to all the tourist attractions in Sydney. It was a 15-20-minute drive to the city. My favorite part of the house was of course the kitchen!

The backyard had a laundry room cum store room. There was also a huge trampoline which the kids really loved!

Homecooked Lamb kabsah, Bamia, fried chicken and samosas on the first day in Sydney
Homecooked lasagna, pizza, halal beef 'bacon', cherries and strawberries on the second day.
We didn't really go anywhere on the first day except Coles, Kmart, halal meat shop and the fish market to stock up on food and groceries. Most of the time we cooked our food at home and brought it with us whenever we went out. I'll share more on where we went to the next day in another post mmkay?
Till then!
